Vokey wedge fitting at Dunes

Find the loft, bounce and grind that suit your game.

A wedge is not properly chosen by loft alone. At Dunes, we combine the Vokey Wedge Fitting App with expert observation to build a set for your delivery, your shots and the conditions you play in.

More than loft gaps

Every wedge has a different job.

Your gap wedge may be used mainly for full shots. Your highest-lofted wedge may need to handle bunkers, tight lies and an open face. They do not necessarily need the same sole.

01

Distance

We establish useful carry gaps from your pitching wedge down through the scoring clubs.

02

Delivery

Angle of attack and shaft lean help reveal how the head and sole meet the turf.

03

Shot choice

Full swings, pitches and open-face shots can place very different demands on a wedge.

04

Conditions

Firm links turf, softer ground and bunker sand all influence which bounce and grind feel most useful.

The Vokey Wedge Fitting App

Technique in. Useful recommendations out.

The app uses measured delivery data, including angle of attack and shaft lean, alongside the shots you play and your usual course conditions. It then recommends loft, bounce and grind combinations for the fitter and golfer to test together.

That recommendation is a starting point. The final decision still comes from ball flight, strike, turf interaction and what gives you confidence.

  1. 1
    Talk through your game

We look at your current set, distance gaps, preferred shots and the problems you want to solve.

  2. 2
Hit the shots you really use

Full swings, pitch shots and open-face shots show how your delivery changes with the task.

  3. 3
    Compare suitable grinds

We test the recommendations and judge contact, flight, spin and how the sole moves through the ground.

  4. 4
    Build the set

You leave with a clear specification for each wedge and an explanation of why it suits you.

Plain English guide

Three choices that work together.

There is no single best combination for every golfer. A fitting finds the combination that produces reliable contact for your technique and your course.

Loft

Loft helps control launch and distance. We use real carry numbers to create useful gaps rather than relying only on the number stamped on the club.

Bounce

Bounce describes how the sole resists digging. The right amount depends on your delivery, the shot and the ground beneath the ball.

Grind

Grind is the shape and relief built into the sole. It changes how the wedge sits and moves through turf or sand, particularly when the face is opened.

Why SM11 gives us so much to fit with.

Vokey SM11 offers 27 loft, bounce and grind configurations across six tour-proven grinds: F, S, M, D, K and T. Its range lets us fit different roles within the same set instead of forcing one sole design to do every job.

Peter's fitting view

“The app is powerful because it gives us an evidence-based starting point, but the golfer still gets to see and feel the difference. When the right grind improves contact from the shots you actually play, the choice becomes much clearer.”
